About the Green Economy for All Committee

The Green Economy for All committee is one of three committees managed by the Good Jobs for All Coalition.

The Green Economy for All committee’s framework for action was collectively developed by the 600 labour leaders, community activists, environmentalists, youth and elected representatives who attended the coalition’s visionary Good Green Jobs for All Conference on November 7, 2009.

The committee’s framework for action calls on public-minded organizations and community leaders to join with us as we develop campaigns and strategies for a GTA economy with green infrastructure renewal, green manufacturing, and the inclusion of all youth in the green vision.

One June 7, 2010, the Green Economy for All committee launched its first campaign called the Green Jobs for All at Hydro campaign.

The campaign calls on Toronto Hydro to lead the way in achieving sustainability in Canada’s largest urban centre, by installing solar panels on public buildings across the city, prioritizing local procurement, and supporting the equitable hiring of youth, people of colour, and newcomers into our new green economy.
