Good Green Jobs for All
The focus of the three workshops is to identify issues for the Good Green Jobs For All campaigns across the GTA and mobilization strategies that contribute to movement building in each of the following workshop areas.

There will be consistent themes presented across all workshops which will examine the need for equity, social justice and environmental sustainability in building a green movement for all with a special focus on:

  • Employment
  • Local Procurement Policies
  • Renewal and Recognition of Skills
  • Dignity of Labour and the Importance of Living Wage
  • and the Full and Active Commitments of All Levels of Government

Conference participants are to choose from one of the three workshops.

Green Infrastructure Renewal: Transitioning How We Live

Workshop #1 will examine good green jobs for all by developing campaigns and strategies in key areas of infrastructure such as housing, transit, schools, energy and public services. Moderator: Catherine Goulet, Assistant Program Director, Common Grounds, Evergreen

Empowering Youth in Our Communities Through an Inclusive Green Vision

Workshop #2 will identify community strategies and campaigns to assure racialized and working class youth equitable access to career training, good entry level jobs and social enterprise development in the green economy. Moderator: Effie Vlachoyannacos, Coordinator, Scarborough Civic Action Network

Green manufacturing jobs: making it more than a slogan for Toronto and Ontario

Workshop #3 will consider the challenges of building a cross-community movement to create good green manufacturing jobs for all and why developing strategies and campaigns is vital for our economy. Moderator: Judy Vashti Persad, Organizer, Toronto & York Region Labour Council
