Toronto Mayoralty Debate 2010: Inner City Suburbs, Inner City Issues

Scarborough Civic Action Network (SCAN) presents…

“Toronto Mayoralty Debate 2010: Inner City Suburbs, Inner City Issues”

Toronto’s inner city suburbs have transitioned to become urbanized communities struggling with urban problems as great as anywhere in Toronto.

As an inner city suburb, Scarborough has specific social needs in many areas including affordable housing, transit, recreation, child care, unemployment and poverty, food security, immigration and settlement, and community safety.

It is critical to those living and working in our inner city suburbs that the next Mayor of Toronto plays a continuing role in city building and social development throughout Toronto.

What VISION do Mayoralty candidates have for the city’s inner suburbs?

What social development challenges will they take LEADERSHIP on?

How will they build community, provincial and federal PARTNERSHIPS?

The Scarborough Civic Action Network’s (SCAN) Mayoralty Debate, “Inner City Suburbs, Inner City Issues” will be held on Monday, September 27th at the Scarborough Civic Centre. Door will open at 6:00 pm and the debate will begin at 6:30 pm.

Please join us in hearing the top five Mayoralty candidates debate these crucial issues. Rob Ford, Joe Pantalone, Rocco Rossi, George Smitherman and Sarah Thomson will be in attendance.

This is a community event. Your questions for the candidates may be sent in advance to rjessica@agincourtcommunityservices.com.
